Davee Troublefield wins NAHA Competition!

• Phoenix, AZ (April 16, 2010) – Davee Troublefield, an industry makeup artist and cosmetologist from Paul Mitchell, demonstrated a strong competitive streak and put forth his best efforts as a beauty professional, securing his spot in the 2010 Beacon program. Nearly 600 artist applied, with 10 selected to participate.
  
  Beacon is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for beauty experts to spend two full days with masters of the salon industry. With a focus on business skills, marketing and leadership, the Beacon program is designed to encourage career development and professional growth. The 2010 program features some of the industry’s best, with breakout sessions hosted by Michael Baker, Geno Stampora, Scott and Linda Yodice and others.
  
  The Beacon application process involves stylists submitting their resume, clients, portfolio and professional marketing piece. The portfolio must consist of three before and after looks, while the professional marketing piece allows applicants to show off their creative sides. The professional marketing piece this year ranged from business cards to billboards. All of the applications were judged by Professional Beauty Association (PBA) Beacon Committee, which includes very prominent and successful salon and spa owners, distributors and manufacturers. Winning entries were selected based on creativity, presentation and content.
  
  Davee submitted an impressive resume, strong portfolio and unique and creative professional marketing piece. Applicants were encouraged to demonstrate their ability to place themselves amongst beauty industry professionals in the self-promotional marketing piece of the application.
  
  The Beacon program is held in conjunction with PBA Beauty Week, North America’s largest, most inclusive beauty event, offering unlimited networking, education, and professional growth opportunities to all sectors of the beauty industry. This week of beauty features PBA Symposium, the North American Hairstyling Awards, Best Practice Club, City of Hope and BEACON. PBA Beauty Week is produced by the Professional Beauty Association in cooperation with Cosmoprof North America.
